Welcome back to Term Four 2020!

Kia ora whanau,

Welcome back to Term Four and being back in school at Level One! We hope everyone had a safe and refreshing break. We look forward to seeing all of our young people back in school tomorrow – I get the sense the next few weeks are going to be a whirlwind ride!!

Just a few quick updates!

Today and tomorrow – All students are in their normal timetabled classes with their timetabled teachers. Please make sure they attend all classes and are on time as this will be their last chance to touch base with their teachers before prelims start on Wednesday.

2021 Head Student Voting – Voting will open for all current Year 11 and 12s on Tuesday and close at the end of this week. The Voting Google Form will be emailed out Tuesday morning. Head Student bios have been emailed to all students – please remind them to take the time to read them.

Prelim Exams Week – All students should now have their timetable and planning document for Prelims, if not they need to see their Tutor ASAP! Prelims go from Wednesday Week One to Wednesday Week Two.

Students have been told the following:
  • You MUST attend all external standard prelim exams you are signed up for.
  • You MUST attend all internal standard workshops.
  • You SHOULD make the most of the time to come into school and complete and unfinished internal standards.
  • You CAN study from home (during the prelim week only) if that suits you better – but only when you don’t have exams or workshops or basically anything you could be doing in school to meet your academic goals for 2020.
The rest of the term – Timetabled classes will continue to run through to the end of Week Five – with much of Week Five also being farewells and prizegiving. More information about these will be sent out in the coming weeks.

Students will be signed out for study leave in Week Five only if they are on track for meeting their academic goals! If they still need to gain more internal credits to meet their agreed goals they can continue to come to school until Monday of Week Eight. Their Tutors will help them plan their time (and priorities) as needed. Stand by for more details in the coming weeks.

In the meantime – we encourage all of our young people to meet those deadlines and do the mahi!!

Ngā mihi
