To notify the school of a late arrival, early departure, or full-day absence, please use the Parent Portal. The portal can be accessed via a web browser on your mobile device, laptop, or desktop computer.

Where possible, we ask that absences are reported before 9.30am, to ensure attendance is recorded accurately for your rangitahi.

Special Leave

For longer-term leave of more than three days, a Special Leave Form must be printed, completed, and submitted to reception for the Principal’s approval.

The form must be printed, as the student is required to speak with each of their teachers before the application is submitted.

At least two weeks’ notice is requested wherever possible.

Albany Senior High School has an on-site café, Te Tepu Nui, open from 8.00am each school day. The café offers a range of brunch, morning tea, and lunch options, alongside coffee, hot chocolate, and a selection of cold drinks.

Students are welcome to use the café space before school and throughout the day, making it a popular place to grab a snack, refuel, and connect with others.

School donations are considered charitable donations and provide families with an opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality educational opportunities at Albany Senior High School.

Student Support Services include counsellors, a careers counsellor, learning support, registered nurses and a Gateway coordinator.

Term One will begin with a staggered start:

• The first school day of 2026 for Year 13 is Thu 29 January.
• The first school day of 2026 for Year 12 is Fri 30 January.
• The first school day of 2026 for Year 11 is Mon 2 February.
• First full school day of 2026 for all students is Tuesday 3 February.
