Student Committees

Opportunities for students to lead, contribute, and make a difference.

At Albany Senior High School, students are encouraged to take on meaningful leadership roles through a wide range of student committees. These committees provide opportunities for students to share their voice, pursue their interests, and contribute positively to school life.

Student committees are formed at the beginning of each year, and students from all three year levels are invited to apply for positions. Committees are student‑led, with support from staff, and play an important role in shaping events, initiatives, and experiences across the school.

Examples of committees that have been active at ASHS include:

  • Arts Committee

  • Ball Committee

  • Cultural Committee

  • Health Committee

  • Impact Committee

  • Māori and Pasifika Council

  • Politics Committee

  • Sexuality and Gender Acceptance (SAGA) Committee

  • Sports Committee

  • Technical Event Management Team

  • Yearbook Committee

Through involvement in committees, students develop leadership skills, collaboration, and confidence – while helping to build a connected, inclusive school community.
