We are seeking an enthusiastic and developing librarian to help grow our modern, well-resourced library as a vibrant, inclusive, welcoming hub that inspires reading, supports digital literacy and research skills, and maintains an engaging, well-organised learning environment.
This role focuses on fostering a love of reading and creating an environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and inspired. The successful candidate will promote reading for pleasure through engaging displays, book talks, and school-wide initiatives, while collaborating with teachers to provide relevant resources that align with curriculum needs and student interests.
They will also support students with research and information skills, helping them to locate, evaluate, and use information effectively and responsibly. Responsibilities include assisting with the day-to-day operations of the library, circulation and cataloguing, contributing to collection development, maintaining an organised and inviting space, and using the library management system (e.g. AccessIt).
This position is well suited to someone working towards a Library and Information Studies qualification or building experience in school librarianship.

This position is part time, permanent and is from 20-30 hours per week (depending on skills and qualifications) worked across 5 days. The pay grade is determined by The Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement which can be found on the Ministry of Education website.
