Earlier this week we received notice from the Post Primary Teachers’ Association (PPTA) of members’ intention to hold a nationwide strike on Wednesday 20 August. This strike action follows a breakdown in bargaining for the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement.

As a result, Albany Senior High School will be closed on this day. We encourage your young person to make the most of this time by working from home to progress their learning and assessment tasks. All online material from Google Classrooms will be available to support their learning.

Sports games will continue as scheduled.

All Gateway and Academies students are expected to attend their courses as normal, including those based on site. Please also note that our school café will be closed for the day.
