Students leading learning through partnership and responsibility.
The Associate Tutor role is a significant student leadership opportunity at Albany Senior High School. Associate Tutors work alongside Tutors to support learning, connection, and wellbeing within their tutorial group.
Students from all three year levels are invited to apply for the Associate Tutor role. There is one Associate Tutor in every tutorial group, providing a strong student voice and peer leadership presence.
Associate Tutors are expected to:
-
support the Tutor in leading the tutorial group
-
collaborate with the Tutor to plan and shape tutorial sessions
-
lead workshops with the tutorial group at key times during the year
-
act as a positive role model for other students
-
support students within the group where appropriate
Through this role, Associate Tutors develop leadership capability, communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility – while helping to create a connected and supportive tutorial environment.
